The Florida Bar Military and Veterans Affairs Committee is building a network of mentors to assist lawyers taking advantage of the new Military Spouse Rule.

The rule allows attorney-spouses of military personnel stationed in Florida, who meet several conditions, to practice law in Florida for up to five years without taking the bar exam.

These lawyers will need the support of experienced Florida Bar members as they begin practicing in a new jurisdiction and the committee is seeking volunteers to help ease these attorneys’ transition to Florida law.
