Navigation Measure to provide personal injury liability protection for skating rinks moves in the Senate

While roller skating rinks provide a positive social benefit to communities and are a source of “wholesome family fun,” increasing liability insurance costs are a major factor in roller skating rink closures in Florida, said Sen. Clay Yarborough, R-Jacksonville.
“For it to be more economically feasible for insurance companies to provide affordable coverage to owners, standards should be established to provide more predictability in the marketplace and to encourage risk reduction mechanisms,” Yarborough told the Senate Judiciary April 4 when explaining SB 1458.
