Measure to assist victims of domestic violence obtain protective orders poised for passage

The Legislature is expected to sign off today on a measure that would make it easier for domestic violence victims to seek a protective order.

Without discussion or debate, the House voted 110-0 on Friday to approve HB 761 by Rep. Alina Garcia, R-Miami. Another Miami Republican, Sen. Alexis Calatayud, is sponsoring the companion, SB 852.
