A House panel has agreed to update a little-known provision of Florida law that keeps financially strapped Floridians from losing everything to creditors.

The House Civil Justice and Property Rights Subcommittee voted 15-0 on January 13 to approve HB 265 by Rep. Mike Gottlieb, D-Sunrise.
