Joanne M. O’Connor of Jones Foster, recently served as a member of a merit selection panel for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida to consider the reappointment of a federal magistrate judge.

Steven M. Harris wrote feature articles, “Firearm Discharge ‘Lawfully Defending Life or Property,’” in the February 2025 issue, and, “Believe It or Not, Florida Isn’t Really a Stand Your Ground State,” in the March 2025 issue of Forum 8, the online newsletter of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar.

Peter Prieto of Podhurst Orseck was honored by the American Jewish Committee of Miami and Broward with the 2025 Judge Learned Hand Award in recognition of his professional accomplishments and community involvement across South Florida.
