The cast of the supper in January at the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society’s annual talk spoke of how the supreme law of the land is being viewed more and more in court after court. It is a historical shift that, if more widely utilized, would better m aintain the fabulous founding ideas of our society. Dolly Madison (the snack company, not the woman), like activists, selling what both appears and tastes good, but proves to lack both substance and subsistence after swallowed, doing damage while being digested, to the point where one can’t wait for it to be expelled.

The historical shift places raw, real meaning over cooked up, imagined intent. The actual written words over how the berobed thinks they can be applied. So many contemplative hymns from James Madison and the like catalysts over too many contemporary whims from Billy Madison-like activists.
