The Florida Constitution’s “in-office representation ban,” doesn’t prohibit a South Florida legislator/lawyer from representing a client before the Florida Board of Bar Examiners, the Ethics Commission has determined.

“Does Article II, Section 8(e), Florida Constitution, prohibit a sitting member of Florida Legislature from representing a Bar applicant for compensation in a formal or investigative hearing before the Florida Board of Bar Examiners?” the opinion states. “This question is answered in the negative.”
