Navigation Legislation making it easier to challenge local ordinances becomes law

Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed SB 170, a measure that makes plaintiffs eligible for up to $50,000 in attorney fees if they can convince a court a local ordnance is “arbitrary or unreasonable.”
Sen. Jay Trumbull’s bill also requires local governments to create and post “business impact statements” before enacting certain ordinances.
