Legal Aid Service of Broward County and Manne Foundation partner to prevent homelessness
Legal Aid Service of Broward County and the Manne Foundation Homeless Prevention program are partnering to prevent homelessness and the resultant trauma of displacement for individuals and families at-risk of being unhoused by providing free legal services, rental assistance, and other support services.
“[T]he government and many agencies have been spending billions of dollars to try and solve the ‘homeless problem’, but we have launched this innovative program to address the root causes of homelessness and prevent many families from suffering the financial and psychological trauma of living in their cars or the streets of our community,” said Bob Manne, the program’s founder, in a statement released by LASBC.
“In essence, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” said Manne, who with his wife, Grace, has committed $1 million to fund the program.
