From justices to judicial assistants, public defenders to court clerk personnel, the Legislature devoted a good deal of its crime-fighting effort this year to protecting Florida’s “court family.”

Judicial assistants are awaiting Gov. Ron DeSantis’ signature on a public records exemption that would shield their “personal identifying and location information” from would-be stalkers.

The bill’s passage capped a multi-year effort by the Judicial Assistants Association of Florida.
