Lawmakers get an inside look at the Florida Supreme Court with Chief Justice Muñiz
House Civil Justice & Claims Subcommittee Chair Traci Koster of Tampa arranged the field trip to the Supreme Court to help demystify the least understood branch of state government. Koster, a marital and family law attorney, said the exercise was her response to a directive from House Speaker Daniel Perez, a Miami attorney, for members to brush up on their knowledge of the courts.
Chief Justice Carlos Muñiz helped lawmakers gain a deeper understanding of the state’s judicial branch during a House Civil Justice & Claims Subcommittee “site visit” this week, where he addressed questions ranging from constitutional concerns to the inner workings of the Florida Supreme Court.
