Gov. Ron DeSantis’ nearly $1 billion in vetoes spared most of the court spending priorities that lawmakers approved in their initial, $117 billion proposed budget for FY 2024-25.

DeSantis said the resulting $116.5 billion state budget includes historic investments in education, the environment, and essential services while holding the line on current spending.

“This is a budget that shows it can be done,” DeSantis said at a press conference in Tampa.
