Tampa-based labor and employment law firm Johnson Jackson is offering a new scholarship aimed at supporting the professional growth of law students who have overcome adversity.

The Courage to Grow Scholarship, to be given each academic year, will award $5,000 to a law student who identifies as being from a historically underrepresented background in the legal profession, and/or who has overcome significant obstacles, such as personal health challenges, lack of resources or family support, or some other challenge, to pursue a legal education.

“When we founded our firm in 2017, we developed our core values of teamwork, innovation, growth, excellence, and courage,” said Erin Jackson, Johnson Jackson’s founding Shareholder. “We work hard to incorporate these values into everything we do — on behalf of our clients, with each other, and in our community. It’s with that spirit in mind that we wanted to honor one individual per year for demonstrating courage, even while facing hardship, to maintain their steadfast pursuit of education in the law.”
