Navigation JNC opens application process for Florida Supreme Court seat
The Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission is seeking qualified applicants to fill the vacancy on the Florida Supreme Court created by the resignation of Justice Charles Canady.
Based on the Florida Supreme Court’s current composition, the individual appointed to fill this vacancy must be a resident of Florida’s Second Appellate District at the time of appointment.
The judicial application may be obtained from the Governor’s Judicial Nominations website at https://www.flgov.com/eog/info/judicial/applications. Applicants must submit: (1) an original electronic copy of the application (including all attachments) in PDF text-searchable format; and (2) a redacted electronic copy of the application (including all attachments), which excludes all material that is exempt or confidential under applicable public records laws, also in PDF text-searchable format. Both the original and redacted applications must be submitted electronically to all commissioners at the email addresses listed below. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on December 17.
