If subpoenaed, judges must testify
A Florida judge must comply with the law and testify if subpoenaed, even if the testimony relates to a former intern’s reinstatement hearing with The Florida Bar, the Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee (JEAC) ruled on February 6.
The committee’s guidance clarified when a judge can be called to testify, affirming that a subpoenaed judge has a legal obligation to appear in such proceedings.
The JEAC acted in Opinion Number: 2025-02.
