Grandparents could petition for visitation of a minor child, but only after a tragedy, under a measure that is moving in the Florida Legislature.

The House voted 112-3 on February 24 to approve HB 119 by Rep. Jackie Toldeo, R-Tampa. A companion, SB 1408 by Sen. Keith Perry, R-Gainesville, is awaiting a final vote on the Senate calendar.
