Navigation Governor appoints two to the bench
Gov. Ron DeSantis made two judicial appointments August 22, one to the 11th Judicial Circuit court and one to the Miami-Dade County bench.
Laura Gonzalez-Marques of Coral Gables to serve as judge on the 11th Judicial Circuit Court
Gonzalez-Marques has served as a judge on the Miami-Dade County Court since her appointment by DeSantis in 2021. Previously, she was at Kobre & Kim. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her juris doctor from Columbia University. Gonzalez-Marques fills the judicial vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Michael Hanzman.
