Gov. Ron DeSantis late Friday announced four judicial appointments.

Johnathan Lott of Ft. Lauderdale to serve as judge on the Fourth District Court of Appeal

Judge Lott has served as a circuit judge for the 17th Judicial Circuit Court since 2024. Previously, he served as an assistant United States attorney for the Southern District of Florida. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his juris doctor from the University of Chicago Law School. Judge Lott fills the judicial vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Ed Artau.
