Gibson petitions for Bar reinstatement
Pursuant to Rule 3-7.10, Joseph Wimbert Gibson, Jr., has petitioned the Florida Supreme Court for Bar reinstatement.
Gibson was suspended for six months by an order of the court dated January 21, 2021, as a result of failing to inform a client that there was no arguable merit to his case before filing an insufficient Anders brief to withdraw; failing to assist client in obtaining a substitute counsel as ordered by the court three times; and failing to provide a copy of the appeal record to the client despite the court ordering to do so in five different occasions.
Any persons having knowledge bearing upon Gibson’s fitness or qualifications to resume the practice of law should contact Rita Florez, Bar Counsel, at rflorez@floridabar.org.
