From emergency suspension and interim probation to a proposed temporary membership, the Board of Governors will consider a host of new rules and proposed amendments when it meets July 18 in West Palm Beach.

High on the agenda for the first meeting of the Bar year is new Rule 3-5.3 (Emergency Suspension and Interim Probation) that the Supreme Court, on its own motion, adopted June 5 in case No. SC2025-0727.

The rule allows for the interim suspension of attorneys charged with felonies that reflect adversely on their fitness to practice.
