LLAMA LAW SCHOOL: As part of its wellness-related series for students, faculty, and staff, Florida State University law school is planning “Llamas on the Green” for February 14. “Studies show that snuggling with a furry friend increases oxytocin, the love hormone, and lowers cortisol, the stress hormone,” said Nancy Benavides, FSU Law associate dean of academic programs and student advancement. “So, this February 14, we will be welcoming llamas (and other petting zoo animals) to the College of Law to celebrate Valentine’s Day.” The series underscores the importance of taking a break every now and then, Benavides said. “We believe that when you take time to care for yourself, you will be more productive, reduce stress, and feel happier.” The llamas are being supplied by Redemptive Love Farms, a family business just outside of Tallahassee.
