Florida State University’s College of Law and College of Nursing have partnered to launch a new Health Law and Policy Graduate Certificate, designed for students and health care professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape in health care.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with the College of Nursing to equip health care students with foundational legal knowledge and practical skills to navigate today’s increasingly complex health care environment,” said Erin O’Hara O’Connor, dean of the FSU College of Law. “As the legal and regulatory frameworks in health care evolve, professionals across the industry need to understand how to navigate these challenges.”

The fully online, asynchronous 12 credit hour certificate program covers a broad spectrum of topics, including health law statutes and regulations, compliance strategies, risk management, health care governance and policy development. Students will learn to interpret relevant health care laws, mitigate legal risks, design and audit compliance programs, and communicate effectively with legal counsel, regulators and organizational leadership, according to the university.
