Comprehensive cybersecurity incident response plans are now a standard global operational need, not a nice-to-have. Although the October 20 jump-scare with the Amazon Web Service outage that affected a wide plethora of web-product users from Alexa to Zoom across the eastern United States was found by the company to have been caused by a bug in the code and not a cyberattack, the incident serves as a sober warning to have a plan.

To encourage Florida’s firms to set a plan in place, The Florida Bar Committee on Cybersecurity and Privacy’s will present “Recommendation 25-1: Voluntary Adoption of Incident Response Plans” Thursday, November 13, from 12-1 p.m., E.T.
