As the Legislature readies for the first of seven interim committee weeks next month, Florida Court Clerks and Comptrollers have finalized its legislative priorities, which are designed to fill current gaps in the clerks’ funding structure.

“We need a better funding model,” Martin County Clerk and 2022-23 FCCC President Carolyn Timmann said. “Many don’t understand our broad scope of responsibilities and we need to make sure they know the workload the clerks face.”

Timmann said over the previous two legislative sessions, the Florida Legislature has recognized the funding gaps and have provided Florida’s 67 clerks a roadmap to close them.
