Two Florida judges who have faced direct threats to their safety — including one who was the subject of a violent, computer-generated deepfake video — will speak at a national forum this month aimed at exposing the growing dangers confronting judges across the country.
The “Speak Up for Justice” forum, titled “Unprotected and Under Fire: State Judges at Risk as Congress Weighs Action,” will be held September 25 and will bring together judges, lawmakers, and legal advocates to call attention to the protection gap that leaves state judges increasingly vulnerable to threats, harassment, and even violence.
