After processing more than 78,000 applications for protective injunctions last year, Florida’s court clerks are marking National Domestic Violence Awareness Month by highlighting available services.

“If you are in immediate danger of domestic violence, call 911,” Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers President Carolyn Timmann said in a statement. “One of our most solemn duties as clerks of the court is the urgent processing of protective injunctions for individuals seeking protection from domestic violence.”

Timmann, the Martin County clerk, urges anyone needing assistance with a domestic violence injunction or restraining order to contact a local clerk’s office, “so we can provide guidance and help process your application.”
