New Rules

Sole practitioners such as myself will be dramatically affected by the new rules that took effect on New Year’s Day. Luckily for me, my children are grown, but the new rules seemed to be written for lawyers who have multiple partners or associates that can alleviate the personal relationship and life effects of these rules.

The new rules I am writing about are the new case management rules regarding the court setting these hearings whenever it wants without consultation and, more importantly, according to the speakers in the CLE, filing a notice of absence from jurisdiction is now a waste of paper.
