The Florida Courts Technology Commission, pursuant to a request from Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Canady, is conducting a review of cybersecurity issues in the trial courts.

The commission on November 5 approved an eight-question survey, prepared by its Cybersecurity Subcommittee, to send to circuit chief judges to inquire about cybersecurity matters in their courts.

In his October 18 letter to FCTC Chair and Ninth Circuit Chief Judge Lisa Munyon, Canady noted an audit is already underway for appellate courts and the Office of the State Courts Administrator on cybersecurity and said a similar effort should be undertaken for the trial courts.
