Some defense attorneys are concerned that a sweeping COVID-19 Workgroup rules petition would make it too difficult, or in some instances impossible, to use remote technology for routine criminal proceedings.
The proposal by the Supreme Court’s “Workgroup on the Continuity of Court Operations and Proceedings During and After COVID-19” is designed to enhance efficiencies learned during the pandemic by promoting greater use of remote technology.
