Despite a ‘slow’ July, e-filing continues to outpace previous year
According to the latest statistics from the Florida Courts E-Filing Authority, the court system’s statewide e-filing Portal reached the peak of the summer doldrums in July. Total documents filed through the Portal were 2.42 million (in 1.64 million submissions) in July, down 7% from the previous month, and 13% from the record high setback in March of 2022.
During their meeting August 19 in Sarasota, Portal Program Manager Carolyn Weber told the Florida Courts Technology Commission, “July was a much slower month for us, but our numbers year to date are still up from the previous year.”
The average number of weekday submissions was 84,890 in July. July 26 was the highest volume day of the month, with 92,323 submissions. The lower numbers last month did help to bring down the average number of days to the docket by a whopping 14% to 0.71, which is down from June’s 0.83.
