Proposed DCA map

A proposed realignment of district court of appeal boundaries and creation of a sixth DCA will required seven, not six, new DCA judges, according to the Florida Supreme Court.

The court on December 22 modified its earlier estimate on the number of new judges needed, which was made November 24 when it released an opinion (story here) asking the Legislature to create a sixth DCA. Aside from creating the new Sixth DCA, based in the Tampa Bay area, the request would realign the boundaries of the First, Second, and Fifth DCAs. The Third and Fourth DCAs would remain unchanged.
