Condo task force considers reinspections and who should conduct them
Florida law should probably require a structural engineer to sign off on a 40-year condominium reinspection, code enforcement officers told a Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section task force.
“In my opinion, yes, any official would be more comfortable with a structural engineer than a PE (professional engineer),” said Sean Flanagan, deputy building official for Coconut Creek. “That just makes sense to me.”
Flanagan was one of several Building Officials Association of Florida officers who addressed an August 25 meeting of the Condominium Law and Policy on Life Safety Issues Task Force.
