Civil litigation bootcamp focuses on minority attorneys
A joint effort by the Florida Hispanic Bar Association and the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association during The Florida Bar’s Winter meeting offers attorneys an opportunity to enhance their civil litigation skills.
A civil litigation bootcamp is set for January 20 from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando and offers free CLE credit to members of both voluntary organizations. The event is also open other members of the Bar at a cost of $25.
Topics include “Motion Practice 101,” with Judge Michael Bagge-Hernandez and Magistrate Judge Embry Kidd; “The Art of Direct & Cross Examination,” with Felipe Guerrero; “Effective Legal Writing,” with Kimberly Lopez and Cornelius Demps; and “Choosing the right Expert Witness,” with Sia Baker Barnes. Juan Carlos Arias will provide the luncheon discussion on “Challenges to Ethical Legal Practice.”
