The event was topped off with the screening of a short film, Light in the Shadows, highlighting the stories of survivors, family members, friends, and mental health professionals who shared their personal journeys with suicidal thoughts, survival, and recovery – and their views on finding hope. Three Florida attorneys were featured in the film – Steve Brooks, Julia Metts, and Mandi Clay.

For many, these two topics seem unconnected. However, as you may know, suicide is common both among our fellow professionals as well as with our clients. Is it possible for lawyers to lean in and help fight stigma while also providing benefits to their practice?
