The Board of Governors agreed to ask the Supreme Court for more time to develop a proposed emergency suspension rule and received updates on projects ranging from an IT helpline to a comprehensive review of professionalism standards, education, and enforcement at its October 1 meeting.

The board also received an update on a Supreme Court panel’s recommendation to reconfigure the geographic boundaries of the state’s five district courts of appeal — and to add a sixth DCA.

“Our report was issued yesterday,” said board member Michael Orr, who serves on the Supreme Court panel.
