The Board of Governors has approved a new policy for Bar elections that yield close results.
At a January 29 meeting, the board voted unanimously to approve a Rules Committee proposal to add Standing Board Policy 2.22 (Election Recount).
The policy states that the Bar will pay for and conduct a recount if election results are within one-half of 1% of the votes cast. Florida Bar Rule 2-3.6 regulates Bar elections, but previously contained no provision for recounts.
