A bill that would end most driver license suspensions except for traffic-related offenses and failure to pay child support is moving in the Florida House.

HB 577 by Rep. Chip LaMarca, R-Lighthouse Point, would also require Florida’s clerks of court to establish statewide uniform payment plans for court fees, costs, service charges, and fines. Those who could not afford to pay could have the debt converted to community service by judges.
