Bill would notify crime victims of their right to hire private counsel

Crime victims would be notified of their right to hire private counsel, and The Florida Bar would be encouraged to develop a list of pro bono attorneys to represent them, under a measure that is moving in the Legislature.

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously January 31 to approve SB 1012 by Chair Danny Burgess, R-Zephyrhills.
