The House is poised to approve a measure that would allow juveniles to expunge non-violent felony arrest records, setting up another potential victory in a years-long reform effort.

The Senate voted 39-0 on April 7 to approve SB 274 by Sen. Keith Perry, R-Gainesville. A House companion, HB 93 by Rep. David Smith, R-Winter Springs, is awaiting a final House vote.

The measure would expand a Florida law that permits juveniles to expunge first-time misdemeanors if they complete a diversion program.
