Bill would expand Florida’s ‘risk protection order’ law
Two South Florida lawmakers are renewing an effort to expand Florida’s “risk protection order” law that allows police, with a court’s permission, to temporarily confiscate firearms from people deemed at risk of committing violence.
Sen. Lori Berman
and Rep. Kelly Skidmore, both attorneys and Boca Raton Democrats, filed bills that would authorize spouses, parents, and other close relatives to petition a court for an “RPO.”
