Bill requiring clerks transmit involuntary commitment orders within six hours clears both chambers
Rep. Richard Gentry
The Florida Senate on April 9 approved a measure that would require clerks of court to electronically transmit ex parte orders for involuntary commitments to law enforcement within six hours.
The bill, which passed the House unanimously on April 3, now heads to the governor’s desk for signature. If signed into law, it will take effect July 1.
