A bill to close a loophole that allowed a convicted sexual offender to avoid registering his address after he refused to pay fines is advancing in the House and heading to the floor in the Senate.

HB 193 unanimously passed the House Justice Appropriations Subcommittee on March 8, having already cleared the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Subcommittee in February. The bill next heads to the Judiciary Committee.
