Bernice Gaines Dorn Black Women Lawyers Association created
Retired Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy Quince and Florida Bar President-elect Rosalyn Sia Baker-Barnes served as discussion panelists addressing the theme “Honoring our past and shaping the future,” at the inaugural installation brunch of the Bernice Gaines Dorn Black Women Lawyers Association. Shown above is the swearing-in ceremony for the organization’s board of directors, officiated by 17th Judicial Circuit Civil Division Judge Fabienne E. Fahnestock. The sold-out event was held recently at the Marriott Dania Pointe. Dorn, a Florida native, was the first Black woman licensed to practice law in Florida in 1958.
