The Board of Governors has submitted three non-lawyer candidates to the Florida Supreme Court, one of whom will be selected to serve as a public member.

At a March 15 meeting in Coconut Grove, the board voted to nominate Connie Bookman of Pensacola Beach, Karen Cespedes of Hollywood, and Orlando Rolón of DeLand.

A screening committee reviewed and ranked a dozen applications before selecting seven candidates for interviews.
