Navigation Bankruptcy law school clinics gather for a joint session
The bankruptcy law school clinics at University of Miami School of Law and St. Thomas University Benjamin L. Crump College of Law held a joint session in the Southern District of Florida to discuss ongoing pro bono cases, trends, and leading bankruptcy practices.
“The bankruptcy clinics provide pro bono legal services for individuals who are facing bankruptcy,” said Bruce Levine of the Put Something Back Pro Bono Project. “Cases are screened by Put Something Back staff and assigned to teams of students and mentors.”
The University of Miami Law Eleanor R. Cristol and Judge A. Jay Cristol Bankruptcy Pro Bono Assistance Clinic is overseen by Professor Patricia Redmond of Stearns Weaver, and Professor Allison Day of Venable LLP, and by Professor Magda Abda Gomez at St. Thomas University Crump School of Law. Throughout the semester the students pair up in teams to work on Put Something Back pro bono cases under the guidance of mentor attorneys from some of South Florida’s leading bankruptcy practices.
