Administrative order addresses short-term case processing challenges
The Supreme Court has issued an administrative order that addresses the temporary flood of case filings linked to the Legislature’s sweeping civil litigation reforms.
“Recently, we experienced a temporary but significant increase in case filings in certain categories of civil cases,” the order states. “These filings have posed short-term case processing challenges, both to litigants and to the court system.”
The June order, signed by Chief Justice Carlos Muñiz, maintains pandemic-related “differentiated case management,” but acknowledges the need for flexibility.
