11th Circuit Chief Judge Bertila Soto has extended a temporary suspension of jury trials through February 28 in order to protect the health and safety of the community and court staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was determined in consideration of current COVID-19 conditions throughout Florida and Miami-Dade County, according to the court.
Only jury trials are affected by this temporary suspension, which will remain in effect through February 28. All other court proceedings shall continue as scheduled, and any jury trials scheduled for March 1 and beyond need not be re-scheduled.
