Representatives debate a number of tort bills

Ryan Chamberlin In a last-minute flurry of “tort reform,” a House panel on Thursday approved bills designed to shield assisted living facilities, pesticide distributors, and asbestos manufacturers from civil liability. The House Civil Justice Subcommittee was forced to extend a three-hour meeting to complete an agenda stacked with 15 bills.
