If you are noticing more women among your Bar-member peers, you are not imagining it. Women are the fastest-growing demographic in the law both nationally and in Florida, where women Bar members have grown to approximately 41.4% as of 2024.

An example of the growth of women in the profession is Miami-Dade County’s 11th Circuit, where more than half of the 123 circuit and county court judges are women.

To find out what empowers women pursuing justice in one of the largest and busiest circuits in the country, the Bar’s Henry Latimer Center for Professionalism has produced “Professionalism & Gender Empowerment: A Look at the Lives of Female Judges in One of America’s Largest Circuits.” Director Rebecca Bandy interviews seven 11th Circuit judges, including  former Chief Judge Nushin G. Sayfie, Jennifer Bailey (retired), Samantha Ruiz Cohen, Michelle Delancy, Chiaka Ihekwaba, Carroll Kelly, and Andrea Wolfson.
