The Second Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission received applications from individuals seeking nomination for appointment to the vacancy on the Leon County Court created by Judge Jason Jones’ appointment to the circuit bench and the addition of a new circuit court seat by the passage of SB 2508.

The following individuals submitted applications. A “co” next the name indicates the person is applying for the county court position. A “ci” next to the name indicates the person is applying for the circuit court position: Andrea J. White (co, ci), Carlos Rey (co, ci), Cedell Ian Garland (co ci), Chris Bufano (ci), James Beville (co, ci), Jeremiah Hawkes (ci), Kaitlin Holmes (co, ci), Khari James (co, ci), Kirsten Mathis (ci), Kyle Sill (co, ci), Matthew Strenth (co), Michael Beato (ci), Michael Ruff (co, ci), Robert Churchill (co, ci), Sarah K. Dugan (co, ci), Sara Hassler (co, ci), Shavonne J. McCants (co, ci), Stefanie Newlin (ci), and Steven Sellers (ci).

On September 15 at 1 p.m. the JNC will interview the following candidates at the Leon County Traffic Court at 1920 Thomasville Rd., in Tallahassee on the second floor. Interviews will be held in the order listed below, lasting 15 minutes with a five-minute break between interviews. Interviews by the JNC will continue until all applicants have been interviewed.
